@trox, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please confirm that weight? I'm looking at what I think is a similar dollar listed on Heritage that is about double that. Here is a link:

Don't know whether it is genuine, but the weight matches the 50 fen coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces34870.html

Ok yes good point @era. So not a Dollar, but rather 50 Fen.

I'm definitely not an expert on these, but the details look pretty similar. Next step could be a nondestructive elemental assessment to see if the right alloy was used. You could start with silver content, but might need to also look at the trace elements.

Maybe others will have other recommendations.

Added: @trox, was it sold to you as a Dollar coin or did you just assume based on the size?

Being able to read Chinese is a good thing, Chinese Dollar should be 7 Mace and 2 Candareens, so when I saw it at 3 Mace and 6 Candareens right away I knew it was only 5o Fen, but other then that this one looks so good it would fool me for being authentic, but I notice it is missing some teeth? Unless its the over exposure of the picture.

Ok good to know. You mention "dollar" in your thread title, but I'll fix that now.

I'd ask for your money back immediately

The color is consistent with the counterfeits that have been flooding the market.
