There is no language barrier. Majority of people in Lisbon speak English and all displays are in English and Portuguese.

That was a great tour! Those gold coins are beautiful. I have been to Spain dozens of times but not once to Portugal. Lisbon is a place my girlfriend and I have thought about visiting recently. It's only less than 3 hours on a plane from London. We recently watched an episode of 'Somebody Feed Phil' from Netflix, where he was trying all the eateries in Lisbon, which was entertaining!

Thanks for the great pictures and information. I have a vision in my head of your partner standing behind you tapping their foot and looking at their watch. LOL.

That was great, shame we don't have Museums like that here. The one in New Zealand is one room at the Reserve bank with mostly walled displays and pull out screens.
Noticed that English language is well catered for there, of those displays they choose English after Portuguese. I would have thought Spanish or French would be the second language. Then I realised the big link between England and Portugal and the numbers of American tourists visiting - they all speak English.

Wow, what a neat display! I do have a strange question... Did you see any coins minted or dated 1755 to 1757? Just wondering what effect the great earthquake of 1755 had on the coining over there?

That building looks like an old church and I suspect could be a Pombalist style building from the 1755 - 1780 period. It looks like that nice Baroque era rebuild ( I read a book about Joao VI, the King who went to Brazil in the Napoleonic era and it mentioned the aftermath of 1755).
Then again it could be older, as that style could be even 1600s or late 1500s. Lisbon is such a beautiful city and I want to visit it one day! That museum will definitely be on the list.
