Not that I am aware of. Error collectors in Canada tend to squirrel their collections away for a very long time, so not much of anything major comes to light. I am also equally guilty of this - as my errors would probably be the last thing I would sell.

Also - some of the "top 100" would likely be those with crazy eye appeal, but likely derived from mint shenanigans. Do a search on Heritage Auctions for Canadian errors, and sort by price realized for some examples.

The last big error collection that we saw come out to the open market was the Robert Krill collection.

it would be highly risky for someone to use those machines to see what crazy errors they could make, especially with modern coins. risk of losing their job at a minimum or damaging equipment, making them financially liable. cameras everywhere.

Yet, it still happens.

I like seeing the results of those mint shenanigans.

There was a member on here who was writing a book similar to what you discuss. I haven't seen/heard from him for at least 6 months, but he was a prolific poster on here with great information.

Just wanted to share this one I have over here in Oz. It's a NZ 2 cent piece struck on a Canadian 1 cent blank. Pics are a bit old now.
The Canadian Mint produced coins for New Zealand that year, and it is the same weight as a Canadian 1 cent coin, 2.5 gms.

I spend too much time on Coins/Canada website looking at the errors listed with the coin values. Interesting reading for sure. Gotta keep up to date for what to look out for.
