Really nice looking example. Congrats on picking yourself.

I would lean towards saying not the DDR. First, I have not seen the reverse clash through EPU that your example displays. If this clash were known, the removal of it would significantly weaken EPU, which is not visible on known LDS-VLDS examples of the DDR. Also, given the die state of the obverse on your example, the reverse should be VLDS, with even more significant Die Deterioration than what your example shows. I've also never seen an example with the obverse die polishing lines surrounding LIBERTY in that die state. Even in a VLDS example, the doubling on the L of PLURIBUS should be a more distinguished. I agree that we're just seeing some DDD. Still a nice example of a T1! My 5 cents worth.

Ty2020b Not sure how these pieces of doubling in the Bisons hair can be deterioration doubling. Nickel deterioration doubling usually does not fool me.

Interesting I just looked at the Wexler example and the hair doubling doesn't match at all. Definitely not 1802 but I'm not entirely sold on DDD.

The two marks you notated could be die gouges. The Die Deterioration Doubling I was referring to was on EPU. Die state and die events can be very helpful in determining varieties, especially in a case like this where Die Deterioration causes the effect of doubling or on lower grade circ examples. Die state and the clash just don't add up IMO.
