So, I need some help here. I was able to pick this dime with a little help from a friend who actually found it for sale. But upon researching it I am a tad confused. I see both RPD and MPD for this date, and the coinfacts listings seem to have both categories if you do a google search but once in coinfacts I searched "see all varieties" and both weren't there.

But I'm babbling, since I just don't know what the deal is with this variety. Any help appreciated in understanding the coin, which seems to be on the rare side with only 7 graded RPD and all in circulated condition by PCGS.

Also trying to guess a value as coinfacts has no guide since apparently they have no record of any of them selling. I did find one in XF45 for $225 which seems low for a nearly top pop rarity, but there it is. The plan is to slab this coin but would prefer not to lose money doing that.

Thanks in advance!

Just found this site which lists three die states, of which this one is F-107a with a rarity of R3.

https://www.seateddimevarieties.com...l/1853wa.htm

PCGS CoinFacts for this RPD has only one plate coin, which would be F-107, earlier than F-107a as that plate coin does not have reverse die cracks. It shows 7 graded examples. It shows 60 varieties for this year!

https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin...07/145489/45

One of which is F-107 unhubbed RPD, listing just a single example.

https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin...d-rpd/537961

I finally figured out what the MPD FS-301 is, and that is a Half Dime not a One Dime. Just plain missed that difference when initially searching for this thing as they look pretty darn similar.

So smat is correct (thanks!), and this coin can go one stage further to F-107a I suppose. Now another question. Does a registry collector have to find an example of all 60 of the listed hubbed/unhubbed varieties to complete the set? That's a lot of seemingly rare coins for just one date.
