Hey coin community I have a 2008 Arizona quarter I found in pocket change and was wondering if this is a error or just a damaged coin thank you CCF.

I want to say PMD, but I don't know how you can have that much obverse damage and not affect the reverse. The chisel mark on the obv should have transferred to the rev. The middle of the obv doesn't have any damage, like it was spun while it was sanded off. Interesting.

Looks like the work of a dremmel or some other power tool, which is how you get the obverse damage without affecting the reverse.

Definitely post Minting Damage ( PMD)...maybe the person protected the reverse when destroying the obverse
