Found a nice 1992 DD on date. as you can see the issue is at some time it appears to have been hot glued to something. it has some white "paper" fibers on it and looks to be cooled hot glue. Do I try to remove it or leave it? back is in great shape.

That is DDD. ( Die Deterioration Doubling) It is the first stage of die wear on the zinc cents. Looks like something is on the coin. The Liberty will be showing this on the left side of the coin:

This can be seen just on the fields. It is not a doubled die, as the devices themselves would be altered in shape. Note on your coin, just the fields are affected. This can be seen on one or both sides of the coins devices with the affected areas in the direction of the closest rims. (one to same as an educational piece to show to a new collector of something not collectable. A show and tell item)
As I mentioned this is just the beginning of the die wear patter on these dies. It make 3 more steps later on:

CoopHome: Beginning of DDD? What is that? 4 stage aging process for the dies having DDD

Hey coop. Have you considered the possibility of writing a comprehensive book on errors?

I've decided to post my information here, so that it gets read here. How often do books on coins get read? Maybe skimmed through. But here is reviewed often. Repeated, also helped to train the eyes. In a book that is lot harder to convey. (A picture says a thousand words, but seldom do you read the thousand words? It trains the mind. Here I like to train 'Eyes." To me that is more beneficial to learn about coins.
