Not sure if this bit of gunk or gasket is a retained struck thru. What ever it is seems soft and sticks up a bit above the surface of the coin when I look at it from the side.

If it is, what should I do with the coin?

Interesting. Just to help determine what that feature might be, suggest a long soak in 100%acetone. If that 'thing' is tar, dried oil, etc, it should come off. If not, then other possibilities remain.

Try an acetone soak to see if it comes off.

Not a struck through, something is stuck on the coin.

After 24 hour soak it looked pretty much the same, but I thought that one side might have lifted up slightly. I managed to pop it out with very little force and there is a scratch that appears to travel underneath the area. So just some very hard and sticky gunk I guess.
