Thought this was some kind of damage until I saw LIBERTY struck in the damage. Explanations please and thanks in advance

That is interesting. I had something similar happen with a quarter but without the printing on top of it although there were two "O"s on it. See here: http://goccf.com/t/429883

I keep coming back and looking at your messed up dime. I like these kinds of coins, regardless if they are mint errors or environmental. They make me laugh.

Looks as if it was exposed to high heat which caused the clad to bulge. The coin was then pressed to flatten out the still pliable red-hot clad.

Just a guess on my part.

Thank y'all. I love that quarter CentSeeker regardless of how it happened. I personally don't see how you could get that dime that hot and still have the lettering as it is. Any SWAG's appreciated!

What does the edge look like? I am thinking heat damage as well. PMD, not an error or variety.

Thanks John1. The edge looks normal to me. Worn down more in couple places. Weight 2.133 g. Within standards?
