Hello fellow Newbie. I learned the other day that die scratches are identifiable if they go under the devices (the letters and numbers), but dunno for sure what it could be.

That die has outgrown its use. Should have been retired before this.
Just Die Deterioration.

is that the copper core showing through the reverse, arcing from K6 to K9? that's uncommon

A very tired die was used to strike this dime. The lines you see are 'radial flow lines' that formed as the metal moved towards the rim.
