The thickness of the date and Liberty caught my eye.

All the markers line up. The clash in front of the throat, through the C in CENT(rev) and similarity in date all work for me.

Feedback welcome.

The listing describes the DDO as "extra thickness on date and we trust". These areas are the primary ones you should be photographing up close. Markers are of secondary concern when identifying varieties.

This coin looks like a normal cent example to me. Side by sides would confirm if it is/isn't of thus die number?

Thanks for the feedback CoinHI.

In the first image the comparison of the thickness in TRUST and the date with rest of the device seems to satisfies the extra thickness question for me. The date and TRUST are thicker compared to the rest of the device. Question then becomes is the thickness the result of a late stage die or circulation wear? As Coop has pointed out late stage worn dies tend to wear thicker toward the edge of the coin and uniformly. I don't see that in this coin, so I ruled that out. This coin definitely has been in circulation and there is evidence of wear across the device. However, while the wear is uniform, the thickness is not. It is subtle but TRUST and the date are thicker. When I saw the clashes I started to research. VV Wexler and CC for markers. Sure enough the clashes were listed.

I post here and ask your opinion, or am I seeing what I want to see?

But it isn't thickness in comparison to other devices on the same coin you're looking for, it's thickness in comparison to the same devices on a non doubled coin that should be tipping you off.

It's hard to tell, especially because of wear, but the Variety Vista example seems to have more thickness on Trust and on the 5 than your coin and a differently shaped 9 as well.

CRH'ing doubled dies on circulated coins can be very tricky especially with some of the minor doubled dies. Of course, CHR'ing only mint state coins can be quite expensive, so I guess it's a trade off we all have to make.

That ain't it.

Two telltale signs of this class vi (and I don't see either), but you can call it whatever you like.

Thanks, for the feedback. After looking at 6 other 1945's I have, I don't see it either. The thickness is pretty much the same on all of them.
