It is a 1943 1/4 Rupee from India, but that is not what makes I t interesting. It is either a broad stroke, wrong plainchant, or what?

Does it have reeding on the rim edge? From those shots it almost looks looks like a broadstrike slightly off centre but something about the rim doesn't seem right to me anyway.

@moo, that is a fun piece that should be half silver., at least according to numista. What is the diameter of this piece? Is it much more than 19 mm, because your doesn't look too different from what is shown there:

Possible options that occur to me are:
- broadstrike. Check the weight matches a normal quarter-rupee, and that there's nothing on the rim - no reeding, no security edge.
- counterfeit.

Yes the edge is reeded!
actual suppose to be
Wt. 2.87gm 2.92gm
D 19.6mm 19.2mm

Doesn't seem to be pushed out much.

Don't know about the silver part though, doesn't add up on the specific gravity test. 2.87gm x .40gm = 7.175 A little of of the 10 needed for silver.

@moo, ok sounds like the weight and diameter are pretty much correct. I suppose could be an off-metal strike or a counterfeit.
