Hi! s
I've had this set for a while now, but how did I missed this one.
Its because I never look at ears and I'm not sure if this is the one.
Just asking.
Thanks!

Hi Believe, Interesting the things that turn up when people regularly are looking. There is a known doubled ear on 1982 Lincoln cents actually, but its known on the 1982-D large dates, mentioned last year to have a low grade value of around $10 and high grade of $150. https://www.doubleddie.com/828802.html and around 10 mins in this video

Otherwise I'll let others discuss your finding, and your welcome to submit it if they feel its a potential new find. https://www.doubleddie.com/402401.html

@DATADRAGON...Thank you so much.
The 1982 D small date with doubled ear looks just like the Philadelphia small Date double ear on Doubleddie.com.
I will be waiting for the outcome in order to submit it.
Thanks for all the info.

Well, maybe not because most people would get them slabbed.

Edit: And some people like to remain anonymous.

@CentSeeker The coin you are referring to is the 1982-D (Denver) small date copper which is not in his set. Only two are known as explained in the article you linked to and considered an error because of that.

@Believe Hopefully you will get some additional input on what others think of the doubled ear you think you found, but I linked to the info if you want to submit it and report back after depending on what others might say here. Generally we can only give opinions which may be helpful at times to save time and effort if something is not what it seems. The only existing doubled ear I'm aware of also is actually on 82-D large dates and is different.

Oh that's right! Thanks datadragon. Everytime I see the 1982 cents I get a little crazed.

This reminds me more of the single squeeze (class 9), doubled ears, than what you would see on an 82. That being said, I would lean towards MD or a plating issue. It would appear there is a lot of plating problems on this coin, judging from the full coin shot. I think an attributor would have to have this coin in hand to tell for sure though.

I would go with MD at this point as well. But if you send it in, I'll be curious to any results you get.

1982 small date zinc cent. How do I know it is a zinc cent? (The copper plating over the zinc dust)

@Coop...and yet, some get good gradings regardless of the dust plating.
