Very nice nickel! I'm having a bit of trouble interpreting the surfaces/luster with these pics but I'll say MS64, possibly 65. As far as the steps I'll leave that to someone with more experience.

I'm thinking AU58, possibly MS61. There's a fair degree of 'chatter' here and there on the coin.

A few small marks in the hair and one on the jaw. The reverse marks are so small I doubt you would see them in hand. MS-64 with a real good shot at 65.

1972 is known for having weak steps, this coin's steps are about as strong as steps get for the year.
