i have a 2001 P quarter I need advice from someone with more expertise than I do but does is this a doubled ear

Gas trapped under the plating that moves after the strike, forming a line. This can be on the fields and over devices:

On the ear, that is a contact mark. Coin damage on that area. If it were raised and enlarged, then it could be a doubled ear. But the affected area is showing a removal of the normal design area, removing the contour of the ear lobe. On a doubled die that area would be raised, not incuse. Need to see more? On this new image, enlarge and look at each doubled ear, and note, the design is raised above the normal ear or on the fields.

Thanks for the graphic coop! I must find the 1984, 1988 and 1997 doubled ear cents now. Those doubled ears are mighty impressive compared to the others.
