i have more better pics took with phone and emailed to computer but cant get those to load image wanted to show outer edge best I could I read up only san fransico mint produced s that had no copper edge?

Agree with the plated assessment. Full, large and sharp images of the obverse and reverse might tell us more.

@dee, the best way to assess for yourself whether you have a "one-in-a-million" off-metal strike is to measure the weight. Silver and clad quarters will weigh different amounts. After-market plating, such as on your coin, may add a smidge more weight.

HSN were selling these plated coins to the rubes and made a lot of these to sell. So they are now realizing there is not premium for these. So they are just spending these now.

So how to tell for sure without ruining the coin? Make a mark on the outside edge on the reeds: (see the copper layer)

Also the weights on a plated and silver coin will be different.
