Hi, I recently found a 2004 penny that may have a doubled corner on the Lincoln Memorial. There's a small raised area near the corner and under magnification I can see what appears to be possibly a light doubling of the corner of the memorial. This seems to only occur near the upper corner of the memorial. The red arrow points to the area that I think may have slight doubling. The blue arrows shows the area above and below that does not have any doubling. I'm a rookie at coin roll hunting and still learning how to identify different varieties!

Thanks!

Please no screen shots. Just go direct from your camera to your coin. Thanks. BTW, this coin is a CENT, not a"penny".

The direction of die wear is showing the movement of metal towards the rim directions. These die scratches on the fields are flattening and moving leaving that strange look on that area. Note on the bays? You can see the stronger die scratches there (they also last longer on the bays and the closed devices). On the open fields, they flatten faster there (note the area next to the rim, are not showing metal movement there, so the die scratches are the moving areas. Not the die die showing wear on the tops of the devices).

Hey everyone thanks for checking out this coin I found! The raised mark near the corner of the coin is what caught my attention. I thought that the mark might have been doubling of the corner of the memorial. However, I am still learning to identify the different coin variety's. Recently, I found a 1989 DDO. It's my first DDO that I've found. I believe it's a (Wexler's) WDDO-003. I was able to confirm that one with the die scratches on the back of the coin.

Thanks again!
