I'm a bit stumped on the type of Machine Doubling on this 2015-P dime. I got it in change today.

It looks like a horizontal shift. There is obvious N shifting of the date, mint, device, Liberty and more on In God We Trust. On the reverse there is more S shifting in all the text and device. Or is there something else going on?

As all of the doubling is pushing away from the devices and towards the rim, I'm thinking that this is Die Deterioration Doubling. The die was just wearing out.

You also need to filter your light source.

@yokozuna. Thank you for the link. For some reason I talked my out of Die Deterioration

@John1. Agree. Those little LED lights are pretty harsh and need softening. I just need to make a new diffuser from stuff I have lying about.

Looks like a rescued die. Polished after Feeder Finger Damaged. Weakening the obverse and the reverse fields behind the torch. Not a premium for the coin, but the result of the die showing a die event that was rescued. These will be common on this die until it is retired. So many hundreds of thousands of these will be seen from this die pair. Seems like these are seen on more than one die.
