Silver101 Pillar of the Community Canada 1081 Posts	Posted 09/16/2022 08:57 am I'm at VF35 as well. The toning doesn't really bring the grade down. All about wear and the surfaces. In this case the wear that's bringing it down is mostly on the obverse. Still, it's a nice coin though, in my experience, there's a fair number of 1936 1c in decent condition. It's been two and a half years since I last looked at coins - I can't remember anymore. Do brown MS coins even have mint luster? Report this Post to the Staff
Silver101 Pillar of the Community Canada 1081 Posts	Posted 09/16/2022 4:00 pm If a coin comes straight from the mint and is put away then it will tone naturally. If it's not circulated it will retain all of its mint lustre. The two aren't really related. "shiny" things don't necessarily have any lustre at all...they can just be whizzed or polished with some kind of chemical... Report this Post to the Staff
