Spence Moderator United States 34427 Posts	Posted 09/19/2022 06:30 am A clearer closeup pic of that mintmark would help, but it looks a bit more like a D than a S to me. The post on the die that creates the middle of this letter was partly broken and this allowed metal to flow in a bit during striking. In more e theme cases (when that post is completely broken), the letter D would be completely filled in. (not a proof coin) https://images.PCGS.com/CoinFacts/0...153_2200.jpg Note on this image, it has the chip on the top of the mintmark. So it might have been from the same die.
