@dar, yes not quite Spain but rather that coin is from the Spanish Netherlands. Based on the diameter, I'm thinking a Half Ducaton, but it then would have been 16g and 37 mm when first made, so not sure I've got the denomination quite right. Yours is dated 1659 AD and seems to be a match for this one:

Added: @hond, I think you are on the right track, but those full Ducatons were very heavy—more than 32 g when struck, so it seems like the half is a better match.
