Based on the diameter, I'm thinking a Half Ducaton, but it then would have been 16g and 37 mm when first made, so not sure I've got the denomination quite right. Yours is dated 1659 AD and seems to be a match for this one: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces17701.html Added: @hond, I think you are on the right track, but those full Ducatons were very heavy—more than 32 g when struck, so it seems like the half is a better match. When I get a chance, I will get a thickness measurement. On your side, if you can get someone to determine composition, that would help. But it is not a valuable coin in this condition. paralyse Bedrock of the Community United States 12057 Posts	Posted 09/27/2022 1:59 pm The overall condition of the surfaces reminds me of what we call "saltwater effect" and if so then metal loss due to crystallization/depletion of the silver content means weight and even XRF may be unreliable. This is common for coins recovered from saltwater beaches or from shipwrecks or the sea floor. I do not know if the Spanish Netherlands coins had a large number of contemporary counterfeits so some research would be required to see if there are other examples out there which are documented as being counterfeits, and then you could compare for features.
