I can't access my camera to take photos. But I just went through a few dozen UNC Mint Sets for 1971 P&D. I located a handful of DDOs. However, I am concerned there may be a series doubling or master hub doubling for this issue that is confused with the FS-102. Any guidance, I could not find clarity in the Search engine for the Forum.

sure wish I could see a picture of this. Can you find a pic of that you are talking about from another source as an example?

If they are affected on the outside edges/inside edges of the devices, then they will be either die wear or Machine Doubling. A spread should be seen on the centers of the devices making them larger in size. Machine doubling is common on the 1968-1972 coins. The larger the coin, the more the reverses are affected on the Half Dollar area:

1971-D-50-C-Kennedy-FS-102
Note the contour is removed on the outside/inside edges of the devices. Not doubled dies, just Machine Doubling if you see this.
