I recently bought a box of pennies from the bank and Ive gotten several very good looking coins from 1944 through 2022. Here's one example that may even have doubling on the reverse or maybe its just the ever confusing DDD? Thoughts please and thanks everyone.

Your second assumption is correct, it is DDD.
When you see the "doubling" flowing towards the rims,
then it is usually Die Deterioration.

Either MD or a worn die issue. I think coop says DDD is only from single squeeze dies which are on zincolns only, starting around 1999?

Looks like altered devices. Note that they are reduced on the affected area with Machine Doubling. Note the devices are slightly reduced on the outside edges of the devices. On a doubled die, the devices would be enlarged. 1968-1972 cents had a lot of MD.
Variety Vista only shows on DDR that year:

Wexler Lists on also:
http://doubleddie.com/814723.html

Coppercoins don't show any that year.

The single squeeze design coin were not even thought of yet. So it would not be DDD. To me, these two listings look more like an issue with a die dents [dropped dies) that affected that area of the design. (the reasoning is to me, that if there was a hubbing issue, all the other devices would be affected, but they are not and the bays would be the raised area on the die, so contact could happen and only affect those areas on the die, showing a raised area on the coins) That is my thought on these listings. Now on the Single squeeze I can see how they could have been affected like this. (Class 9 Doubled Die) But that is my reasoning on these listed ones.
