My LCS still sells junk silver at close to spot. The pure silver rounds sell at a premium of course. No discounts there.

I refuse to buy Silver Eagles. The premiums are unjustified IMO. Most other bullion coins/rounds aren't that much and its the same silver.

I have an offer from an ebay seller for a $5 commemorative gold coin for 10% above spot. This same coin listed in a 2015 Red Book for $2,600.

Quote: I refuse to buy Silver Eagles. The premiums are unjustified IMO. The premiums are unjustified, especially since authorized dealers can buy ASEs directly from the US Mint for a couple of dollars above spot. It seems to me there is a strong case to be made for ILLEGAL COLLUSION and CARTEL FORMING between those dealers in order to ripoff Americans.

Would vendors such as JM Bullion or Provident be considered authorized dealers? If they are, they're currently paying $33 for ASE's. That's $11 over spot.

I just got 10 2023 King Arthur coins from JM Bullion. Paid an even $300. The premiums were a bit more than I'd like but since they were a new release they were on sale. That said, when figuring out the dollar cost average, do you take the total cost you paid which includes the premiums or just the spot price?

SD Bullion has a sale on random date Kangaroo's for $5.49 over spot. Picked up 10 for $284. Being the random nature of this order I don't know if all the dates will be the same or a mix of dates. Anyone have any experience with this? Not that the dates will matter, just wanna be in the "know".

I was supposed to get my Kangaroos yesterday but it seems the delivery was delayed. So many places are understaffed. But anyways I think they should be here today!!

The Kangaroos just arrived. The random dates were all 2022 and that is A-OK with me. My air-tites from OnFireGuy also arrived so good timing!

So I was at a pretty big estate auction today here in eastern NC. Regular average date Morgan's and Peace dollars were going for $55-$90 dollars a piece. Nothing special here at all. I couldn't believe they were selling that high.

Uninformed people make bad decisions in those situations - auction fever and FOMO (fear of missing out).

Your right Hondo. I thought about approaching them and telling them I had some they could buy for the prices they were paying.
