That's cool. Bacchus, also known as Dionysos, god of wine and ecstasy, is found on ancient coins, I have a few.

My folks brought me to Mardi Gras back in the '60s and yes I snagged some doubloons! I thought they had a long history, but not really so much.

Do we know why it has two dates? I assume 1974 is the actual date of issue of the token, but is 1968 the date of the founding of the issuing Krewe?
