This coin found itself in a bulk buy and was immemorable for years until a junk drawer clean up. I have noticed on both the obverse and reverse that the prominent "scratches" are not incuse but elevated. This suggests a potential issue with the die, but then on the obverse there are bubbles or anomalies that look like some reagent was added to the coin to wear out the relief and surfaces, along with devices, almost like a capped die strike.

With so much going on, I am leaning towards PMD but curious as to your thoughts, also. Thank you.

Ok yep that washed out appearance of details and low weight indicate exposure to a corrosive environment like an acid. Those linear marks are very odd I agree. Maybe there were streaks of paint or something which partially protected the underlying copper? I'm not sure.

I'm with Spence on the corrosive environment, possibly being in the ground for a time. The rest looks like misplace metal, from the rims, PSD.

After looking at K7 toK8, those circular elevated lines almost look like a feeder finger? Is there a part of a machine during the minting process that would look like that?

I think a collector or curious person may have dried to dissolve the coin hoping what was embedded in the coin might come loose?

Post mint damage, no mint error. Acidic damage. No premium.
