from what I understand the 1971 DDR has doubling in "united states of america" so I guess this isn't that rare coin (fs-801) but I think it has some doubling. If it is the one mentioned above let me know. thanks

Coincidental MD and Die Deterioration, along with some circulation flattening. Look at the nice split serifs on the listing, yours does not have this.

The DDR would show stronger devices on that devices design. Note this 1968-D DDR:

Note the closed devices, the open areas will be reduced. On Machine Doubling, the devices are reduced smaller than even a normal device sizes.

Just not seeing that on your coin. The devices are normal sized and enlarged by die wear and the Machine Doubling reduced the areas you are looking at.

the FS-801 is just the letters AM and is combinate with the normal design doubling in Q from Quarter on inner up. Hope will help you.
