2022 P 10c Roosevelt dime, New DDR (VLDS)

This was in my pocket change and I noticed the feeder finger die scrapes first to both sides of the torch. Remembering what Coop is always hammering home about most of the modern doubling being towards the center of the designs, I glanced at the center area and there it was. A small secondary leaf touching the torch.

Not dramatic by any stretch but it has beaucoup markers on both sides for others to find that like modern dime varieties.

I don't think this one is a DDR. Likely MD, as you can see some more of the doubling atop the oak leaf opposite the torch from it.

That is the correct leaf to look at for DDRs though. The right side of that leaf, overlapping the torch, is frequently doubled.

Thanks for taking a look Tanman.

My image must not have captured it very well because it's definitely not MD. No flatness to it and it's slightly curved.

If not a DDR maybe it's just a die dent. Could it be from the feeder finger bumping that part of the design on its way to creating the die scrape on each side of the torch?

I see this on almost every modern rosy I see. Not sure it's a doubled die. If you take a look at more modern dimes you'll likely see many of the same thing.

I question this one? Reason? If that area is flat, then it will be Machine Doubling. Try another image with the light in a different direction? See if Machine Doubling is what we are seeing?

Thanks for taking a look. Definitely minor whatever is causing it.

Here's another image that hopefully shows it's not flat but has a curve to the surface.

Lots of cracks all over both dies but this doesn't really have the appearance of a chip either.
