Glare doubling. A common problem on these ultra shiny cents. Try a defused lighting source.

@John1 I checked wexler's and it has bo listing for the 2020 D only the no mint mark. A For the photo thing it's not often that I find anything on the Lincoln Shields so I wanted to be as thorough as possible.

@merclover the funny thing is that I did everything I could to cut out the glare but like you said the newer pennies are really shiny. I cut out all other lights and filtered my microscope and it still was to shiny.

Turn off the onboard lights and use a handheld flashlight with a filter on it.

DDD Stage 1. Note the affected areas are always towards the closest rim direction.

@coop Thanks. More and more as that I look at it last night in the back of my mind I was thinking DDD but I referenced wexler's and it only listed 2020 no mint mark so I was looking at LIBERTY on the coin and it didn't really look like the DDD that I was use to seeing. I turned the coin at different angles and my eyes were still see DD. It was probably just the glare coupled with the DDD.

Not a doubled die.
So on shield you want to look for extra thickness mainly
So that being said think about when looking at the date and liberty that the ACTUAL PHYSICAL METAL that creates those devices is smeared in a certain direction that's the thickness and distortion effect you want.
