Low grade, and it looks like the reverse was scratched up before it got worn nearly smooth. Probably a net AG3. OK as a hole filler but if I were collecting Liberty nickels I'd be looking to upgrade this one.

It is a better date, I bet someone would pay 5-10 bucks for it.

they sell on ebay for 5-10 in this grade range. $5 is a 100X multiplier over face value. thats a higher multiplier than a $20 gold coin.

ebay sold items listings can be an amazing source of pricing data for lower grade and damaged coins. you can see what people actually paid. stuff like this is always in demand and always selling. its not going to buy you a new car or anything like that but people love old coins for cheap. culls halways sell if they are priced correctly. while everyone wants nice coins everyone can afford this kind of coin.

Ahh yes , the semi-key1888 V-Nickel . Reminds me of the time I picked up a VF-20-25 at a coin show for $4.00 .
