whats up with all the shadows on my 23008 {P alaska quarter there around his eye and down by the ponny tellwhat are they

This is a carbon spot or some sort of staining. Post mint damage, no error.

Not a plus for the coin. If something is distracting, it is not a collectable, just mint errors/great looking coins are plus for some coins. Distractions and added post strike damage to a coin is not a plus for coin collecting.

possibly more carbon spotting could be around the eye as well. Need better picture with better lighting
