A good closeup would definitely help, but from these photos your "plane" looks to be a scratch or some other anomaly. Your imagination runs wild. This is nothing more than post mint damage and nothing more.

Common die chip and no added value. Since microscopes are now very inexpensive, more and more people are finding the insignificant (fun to find sometimes though) imperfections that have always been on coins. Unfortunately some people then try to sell these on ebay for big bucks and a few people get suckered into it not knowing any better.

Is it raised above the surface or incuse? As noted, if raised it could be a die chip, but it looks more like a circulation contact mark from another coin's edge.

If it is incuse, it's probably just that. It even looks to have been damaged by another coin's reeded edge. It looks a bit thin to have been another quarter, but I would think it would match the edge of a dime quite well.

It resembles the main engraving of the Wright Flyer, but that's because it's parallel to the engraving and approximately the same height to width ratio as well.

You can also see several other straight scratch marks on the coin that could be interpreted as Wilber throwing sticks at Orvill as he flies into history, but those too are only contact marks.

Just Post Mint Damage. PMD

Be careful with the Ambien as it can cause 'Sleep Eating,' or at least that's what I convinced my wife.
