Circulation wear and a contact mark on the edge of the coin. This is a silver melt coin, so the value is increase by the Silver. Note the slight lamination issue on the obverse. They are called A type 2 War Nickel.

The difference?

On the 1942 nickels you will see the Type 1 and 2 for that year. The Type 2 ended with the 1946 Nickels.

CoopHome: What is a type 2 War Nickel? made during the second World War, to be able to use nickel for the war effort. Part Silver 35%/copper 56%/manganese 9% and on these coins
