When buying gold, read the full description carefully.

I had, over several years, bought several half eagles, AU or better online. 5 of these were in 2x2 cardboard holders. Having just joined NGC I decided to have them officially graded. (I had previously learned to never buy slabbed coins that say XX DETAILS)
of the 5 coins, 2 were "cleaned, AU details" and another was "Removed from Jewelry AU Details.

Also if one asks NGC for variety information, occasionally we learn something. One of the two remaining coins was 1899/1899 FS 301 MS62, while it's a small variety (I've yet to actually see the "doubling") I never knew of Fisev and Stanton's book. Adding the book to my library!

Are you sure it is NCG and not NGC?

I admit that I don't do slabs.
Nevertheless, the questions I ask on behalf of all CCF'ers are:

Do all TPG's indicate varieties or errors on their labels without asking?
or
Do they charge extra for this service?

They do charge extra and it has to be requested (although they will attribute some major varieties automatically).

As an example - I wanted my 1955 DDO Lincoln Cent in a TPG slab to ease selling by my heirs someday. I sent it to PCGS without asking for or paying for the variety attribution and it came back like this:
