Poll Question
There are quite many copies for 1883 Straits Settlements 1/2 cents. Is below piece looks original?

The Obverse

The Reverse

My weighing readings fluctuates 4.6g OR 4.7g

Diameter with a crude vernier

The thickness and partial image of the edge.

It is not attracted to a magnet.

What do you think? And how much this piece worth?

Looks real to me but the pitting is horrid.

I have no doubt that it is genuine, but
it has been buried for some time.

The surface texture and color is as exactly as I would expect.

The very fine lines inside the '1/2' characters are still intact.; they are almost impossible to reproduce with a 2nd generation copy.

Looks too bad to be fake.

In any event, it certainly is not "hand-engraved dies" as with some contemporary counterfeit Straits 1c. Either a pitted original or a pitted accurate cast.
