Sorry about the Obv, thought I had saved cropped image
This was the oldest coin I found on ebay, that I could afford. I don't know anything about these "large format" dollars. Any info would help (Guess I could read the Red Book, lol)

Should I get it slabbed?

Is it worth the extra charge for the larger slab?

1799 is the most common date of draped bust dollar. Maybe someone can help with the variety. There is a nice defect after S-2 on the reverse to note.

To slab or not to slab depends what you want to do with the coin, sell or keep? You could get a little more money back selling it if you get it slabbed. But it costs a lot of money and requires about 3 months time. If you are keeping it then it is just personal preference. If it was my coin, I would leave it raw and not slab it either way.

A larger slab is not necessary, this coin would fit in a normal slab.

Tread lightly if buying expensive coins on a whim is your practice. Make sure you do all of your research before you drop any money on any coin. It is extremely easy to overpay and lose money on your coins. Additionally, reading up on history and coin facts will let you appreciate the coin more.

What does it weigh? How much did you get it for?

The example looks like the B9, BB166 Apostrophe S.

Here is some information form Stacks Auction:
The popular "Apostrophe" variety, named for a vertical die mark after the second S in STATES. The later die state is affirmed by a fine crack in the obverse field to the left of stars 8, 9, and 10 that connects with an earlier crack from star 10 that just touches Liberty's chin. Another faint crack extends from the border to the right of the date, up through the drapery, bust, and field to the left side of star 12.

I am not seeing the obverse die cracks on your example, but it could be your photos.

I suggest caution when purchasing raw expensive coins if you are not certain on how to judge authenticity. There are tons of counterfeit fakes out there and unless you have really done the research to be able to weed them out you will eventually get burned.

That said, I'm hopeful our experts can help you with this one.
