I found this coin at an estate sale. It was glued to a money clip with the initals G.M.L.C 1970. Right off the bat a red flad as it seems it could be a souvenir. The coin weigh 16.61 grams and is made out of what appears of brass and silver and is not magnetic. I don't see any marking that say copy or replica. Thank you for you help in advance.

@sra, first welcome to CCF. Second, the edge picture clearly shows a parting line from this having been cast. Despite the lack of a warning, yes this is fake.

to the CCF. I concur that this is not an authentic 1776 Continental Currency example - although it tries to mimic one.

The lack of a marking simply means it was made prior to 1973, when it became compulsory to brand replicas with the word "COPY" before selling them.

The blob of glue shows where it would originally have been glued onto a piece of cardboard for sale to tourists. The card would have told you it was a replica.
