To CCF, well definitely environment damage . Looks a little different
then a clad Quarter that has come out of the ground . Did you try to clean it before taking pics ?

Classic environmental damage, most likely acidic soil. Looks like a metal detector find.

The cladding is there, thus the higher devices are showing the clad as it slowly wears off of the coin. Metal detector find and possible acid bath to attempt the color change back?
