Is a strong magnet attracted to it? Might be fun to try to pin down what metal was plated on the surface.

I've got a big hard drive neodymium. It barely sticks to it. Don't know how to tell what metal though.

Plated with silver or platinum. I wonder if the tissue test would work?

Maybe @john1, but since there is a small amount of attraction by a strong magnet, my thought is nickel plating. Of course it doesn't really matter, but is rather just a fun thought experiment.

Ok, I'll do it. It sounds like it'll be fun but I don't know what it is or how to do it.

Not a premium for this coin. Plating ruins the original surface of the coin.

Yea coop I know. Not looking for monetary on any of my stuff. Just thought it was cool after seeing so many others on here that I found one. I'll do the tissue test and report back. Thx again.

Did the tissue test John1 and they both looked the same even though there`s a noticeable difference just sitting together. I like the old Washington`s better, not as ugly.
