Trying to figure out if my 1795 Liberty Silver Dollar is real and if so what should I do with it? Ive weighed it and it weighed 26.0 grams or 1.0 ounces...it does not stick to any magnet...any I did the ice test and the cube melted really quickly...any help would be greatly appreciated:)

to the CCF.

The experts will weigh in on authenticity. It is helpful to show images of both sides of the coin.

Something to look out for in the future is that while not always the case, a lot of times these fakes are made to look worn and dirty artificially, and will often have a pattern of a darker ring around the rim while the center of the coin appears cleaner. Not all fakes have this, but a ton do. Authentic coins can have that pattern, but it's not the most common thing in the world. Even in the rare case where a legitimate silver dollar has that wear pattern, you would expect to see more wear on the details of the coin as well. It's certainly a major red flag to see that pattern on an otherwise XF/AU coin. For example, when I see it on Morgan dollars, it immediately concerns me. I looked through about 10 tubes of Morgans that I have and know for a fact are authentic. I think I found one or two with that wear pattern. When you see listings of multiple silver dollars and most if not all have that wear pattern, they're probably fake. I can't remember where I came across it, but I've seen some videos showing the counterfeiting process at some shop in China and at the very end is a step where they add the fake wear on something like a buffing wheel.

I agree, the reeded edge gives no place to discuss its authenticity

One of the "Vampire" fakes; wrote a Coin Week article on the "family" of these!

One-glance fake. Compare facial features to an authentic example. Compare the position of the lower left star to the curls of hair. Look at the date vs. a genuine 1795.
