Looking for guidance with this half dollar. It is damaged but I think it's a good date and mint. Do you bother grading this type of coin, or would the damage make it prohibitive? Thank you.

If you felt so compelled to send for grading, then ANACS would be the TPG to send to just for authentication.

A tremendous rarity if genuine, even holed, but I have no reference work to evaluate this. Waiting for the experts.

IMO it's a $500-$1000 coin with the hole and worth sending in to ANACS. I'd say it's about G-6 grade. With coins like this I usually think "where will I find another one".

The reverse image isn't showing up on my end. The obverse appears genuine and like thq said, $500 or a little better would be a value once authenticated.

This problem-free PCGS VG8 sold last summer for $1,770. I'd value your coin at about 1/3 of that amount. Best of luck!

Cool coin, even holed, it's a rarity, only 59,000 minted. If it's not holed, it probably doesn't hit the market. If you don't mind sharing, how did you happen upon it? Thanks for sharing.

Yes it's pretty cool. Just going through my dads collection and sorting things out. Lots of stuff, don't know how he did it.
