Paid $22 all up, can't say that's too bad at all. It's a little circulated but I just think that makes it all the more interesting. Will be giving a it bath and preventative verdi spot treatment on the obvious areas of concern. Obverse Die #1, EDS, Reverse Die #1 VEDS    |

Hardly at all the facial detail I'd associate with a proof. But I know little of these.

Well it could be a proof, that rim is large and square as one would expect, but other than that...  You got this for $22.00? seriously under valued for a proof coin of any year for a wheat back. |

I don't know the die markers for these but it does like a proof to me. The rims are as expected and I can see the matte finish.
However, I don't like the disturbance (finning?) on the rim. I think it got bent-over during circulation. It may have seen some circulation or serious mistreatment. The hits on the coin are more consistent with circulation than decades of owners.
PR-53/55 (if in fact a proof)

It will eventually end up in an ANACS holder since I'm so confident PCGS or NGC will actually give it a PR prefix
