Took a few months break for a new job but I am back and right where I left off;
Working on my MS Washington Set and My eye for grading this series.

Online photos were good, I knew what I was getting with this one. Fairly straight forward. Can you all nail the grade this weekend?

Let's see...yours compared to mine...
Mine got a sucker punch in on George...those 2 dings above and below his eye...then yours grabbed mine and dragged him accross the pavement smooth...
Then my Eagle grabbed your right wing for a quick clip (3rd feather) and the cock fight began with yours once again dragging mine accross the pavement smooth...lol
Great luster very beautiful subtle toning...strong breast feathers and minimal ticks...
At least MS-64
Great addition to your MS set!

The number, depth and size of the nicks on the obverse keep it to
MS-63.

IMO the obverse bag hits keep it out of gem state. I'm at MS64. Nice looking coin.

decent breast definition. I think the multiple ticks on the face will hold it to MS64
Rest in Peace

Well I'm not knocking my sox off with the obverse ; Ticks , weak strike and looks of field is me because the reverse looks like a stronger strike . love the tail feathers and breast feathers, however the wing tips are weak .
Tough one ; I'm going to take a stab at MS-65+ .

Thanx for all the responses. All are very accurate. Lots of deep ticks on the obverse. Plus that rim nick! The fields have interesting flow lines that are not the most sought after but not as noticeable without magnification. Reverse is really nice.

T-Bop noticed the strike tho. Nice job! I am increasingly attracted to these early Washingtons in PCGS holders with weaker obverse strikes as they are not forgiving on their grading.

The upside is I seem to be able to find cleaner fields and less distracting marks then we'll struck examples at higher grades. Since I am not a holder guy and will bust them out, they tend to look better in my binder and help keep the price manageable.
