Zurie Pillar of the Community United States 5691 Posts	Posted 11/20/2022 1:28 pm Kudos to ANACS for providing an unsolicited attribution of my 1889-O VAM-23A. I sent in a batch of Morgan dollars for grading a few months ago, and I generally check the VAMs myself and ask ANACS to confirm the VAM only on the interesting ones or scarcer varieties. I had this 1889-O as a VAM-8 based on the mintmark position, but I missed the die crack and field break on the reverse. I didn't request attribution on this one, so I was surprised to get this back labeled a VAM-23A (R-6) without asking for or paying for the attribution. Of course they were correct, and I was impressed that their graders noticed this variety and provided the attribution without a specific request. ANACS has a good reputation for variety attribution, and they definitely will keep my business for VAM attribution in the future. Report this Post to the Staff
