Wondering if it was minted the reddish color or if it's from circulation. Also wondering if attempting to clean with dish soap and vinegar would be advisable. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 11/21/2022 1:03 pm Using anything acidic will ruin a coin to a seasoned collector. This looks like a metal detector find. In time the coin wear will remove the coloring on the higher areas first. Eventually in time it will return to the original color, but will be dull looking as the original surfaces are now gone. And as far as cleaning coins, you will not get very many on this site to suggest cleaning of any kind. The only things to use on a coin are, distilled water, 100% acetone.
