1969 S Lincoln Memorial Cent No FG?

CaptJeffWorthFL Valued Member United States 247 Posts	Posted 11/26/2022 10:53 pm Is this an error or variety so common that there is no literature or info on it? I have seen hundreds of 1969 S LMCs a few with a hint easily seen of the FG but this one is gone. Maybe a teeny tiny miniscule trace of the G which looks like a C. I have seen No FG 1969 D LMCs on PCGS and you can easily see some of the FG left. Maybe it's nothing but thought I would throw it out there. Also, the strike is pretty good on both the obverse and reverse with the exception of the steps not being as defined as a normal cent. Report this Post to the Staff

But most of the examples found today, were from the same die pair. How can you tell? Because of the mintmark location. So they stopped slabbing these. (I knew one guy who had some slabbed the first time, sent in more a week or two later and they stopped slabbing these. That is how I know this) Report this Post to the Staff

Here is one slabbed and designated a NO FG by PCGS. This one makes the dozen or so NO FG 1969 D LMCs I have found look really good. Report this Post to the Staff
