That is normal for that year. You need to find the 1998-1999-2000 WAM.

As stated, all 1988 CENTS are WAM.
The first CAM didn't appear until 1992.
Value 1 Cent US each.

Yep, I have to agree with above. However, they are worth something, combined the total value is at 2 US cents

Your coin is an 1988-D and I know of none with a doubled ear, however there is one known for a 1988-P http://varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20...O%201988.htm

That year did have some year varieties, (Wrongly called Wide AM's as all of them are Wide AM's) but on the variety was a different reverse die new creation. This was created for the 1989 cents, but they used them earlier. The differences is on the AME and the mintmark areas.
RDV-005, and RDV-006.

On the AME area note the thin rounded devices? If you have these, then it is a normal design. The RDV-006 are the premium ones. (note the wider flat looking devices?)
Also on the mintmarks, they are also slightly different:

Locations are different and the 'G' is different on the RDV-006. That is what to look for on these. If the 'FG' is worn, it is a RDV-005. The RDV-006 will be a fresh reverse. Easiest to see on the AME area the differences.

CoopHome: What is the 1988 cents Wide AM? all are Wide AM' that year. the difference is two different die reverses.

And the biggest tell for me is that all the 006 will not be a latter die state. They didn't strike enough to have any die wear. I think your first one is LDS, need better pics on the second one.
