1962 Weird Penny Error - Coin Community Forum

Hmwirtz New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 12/01/2022 10:56 pm Hello all, first post here. I inherited a good amount of pennies from my grandpa dating from 1910 to the late 1960s. I have one that is kind of peculiar and I was hoping for some insight. I don't know if it's an error or just something someone did to the penny. There is an extra layer of metal around the rim of the penny. The extra metal is magnetic as well which is a bit weird. I'm leaning towards it not being an error and just something weird that was done to it. Thanks in advance for any insight! Report this Post to the Staff
