Saw this in an auction today and decided to take a chance. Seems to be a "two feathers". Pic is from auction site. Will post my pics when it arrives.
Does it appear to be "two feathers" to you, or did I waste some dough?

2 feather, slightly better date.

But the eye appeal isn't there.

I'd be very curious how this one turns out in hand.

There are two die pairs that I'm aware of for this date (for the 2 feather), both of which have a slight amount of 3rd feather visible. I just looked at both die pair examples I have, neither of which is a match to this one. MM placement is a bit higher on yours. My other concern lies with the apparent die state of your example. These images make it very tough to judge, but I'm not seeing a lot of signs of die polishing, sans the apparent lack of a 3rd or designer initial. Typically, with 2F varieties, there would be other significant signs of die polishing and die wear by this point in the dies life.

At first glance, there doesn't appear to be a 3rd feather or designer initial, but I'm not seeing a match to known dies. Either it's a 3rd die pair, or the combination of not so sharp sellers pics and dark toning/ED is hiding the 3rd.

Look forward to seeing pics when you receive the coin!

Edit: I'm also not aware of a 2F and missing designer initial combo for this date, this also raises my skepticism.

Out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, what was the auction site and who was the seller? If you'd wish to not share, no worries.

No, you were not stupid at all. You made a buying choice on something that you wanted.

Did you pay too much? Possibly. Let's see better pics once you have the coin in-hand. Hopefully, you have a return privilege "just in case" something ain't right.

The only thing that bothers me about the coin is the rim. It almost looks to me like it was two different coins that were put together. Sorta like how a Magician's coin is created.

It seems to be 2 feathers, enjoy it and don't have buyer's remorse please.
You can examine it closely when it comes. Certainly an educational endeavor.
