Is this a mint error or just PMD? If it is a mint error, would it be worth anything or is it in too bad of condition?

@tall, in the overall pic of the rev, I think I see some vestige of the initials. Your closeup is a bit too bright to tell. One other thing about this cent is that it look like a so-called "floating roof", where aggressive die polishing removed the parts of the die that strike the connecting line. At one time these brought some premium, but I don't think that is largely the case anymore. You could check ebay sold auctions to confirm.

I can easily see the FG in the picture right before the picture of your microscope screen.

Allegedly the grading companies say there can be no trace of an FG, but if you see the essay in my signature you will find they break this rule all the time with half dollars.

Interesting, I'll have to read it thanks for the link. I'm including some hopefully better microscope pictures here but I think your right about the FG being there, I think I just missed it because I was too focused on the close ups.

I can clearly see the FG in the first photo of the reverse. I think the lighting/lighting angle in your closeups is such that prevent viewing the initials. Obverse photo has the problem of the shadow below the shoulder of Lincoln, making the VDB not visible.

I clearly see the FG.

Please, we ask that you not take screen shots of features because they are too pixelated to be of much use. If you are having issues getting closeups, I suggest you check out the photography section here on CCF. They should be able to help you figure out your photo issues without needing to take screen shots.
